How it works

Report first. Consultation second. Clarity throughout.

Most telehealth is a video call and a memory. This service is different: your consultation is anchored to a personalised written report prepared before you ever join the call.

Acne scarring reviewed in detail alongside the written scar-signature assessment
Unhurried assessment Reviewed before the clock starts.

Your photographs and history are studied in full before we meet — not diagnosed in the first ninety seconds of a busy clinic list.

Before and after acne scar mapping from a written report
A report you keep Everything is documented.

Advice you can re-read beats advice you half-remember. Your report travels with you to any doctor, anywhere.

Real conversation You discuss it with me, live.

A report alone can’t answer your questions. The video call exists so you can interrogate the plan in real time.

Honest triage No flights to find out.

Decide whether travelling to Australia is worthwhile before you spend on it — and if you need in-person care, I say so plainly.

A plan, in writing, from a specialist.

A virtual consultation is an assessment and planning tool. If your condition needs hands-on care, the report says so.

“The whole thing took me eight minutes to book — and the consultation felt like an hour of value.”

Booking was simple: picked a time in my own timezone, answered the questionnaire about my scars, uploaded photos from my phone and paid. By the time we spoke he already knew my case inside out. No waiting room, no repeating my story — straight into the plan.
“I flew to Australia for treatment knowing exactly what I was getting — the consult made that decision easy.”
Elena V. — Germany

Before spending on flights I wanted certainty. The report set out the procedure, the number of sessions, the downtime and the total cost. When I arrived in Brisbane everything happened exactly as the report described. I'd tell any international patient: do the virtual consult first.

Live availability

Next available appointments Illustrative — not live availability

Consultations are deliberately limited so every report is written personally. These are the next remaining slots — shown in Sydney time and in yours.

Typical availability Your timezone: —

Consultations are 15 minutes. Sydney time shown first; your local time beside it. These are the usual times — the booking calendar shows what is actually free.

The evidence

Why a written report beats
a remembered conversation

This is not a marketing claim. Four findings from the peer-reviewed literature explain exactly why this service is built the way it is.

76%

diagnostic concordance between remote and in-person dermatology assessment — rising to 94% sensitivity for detecting skin cancer.

“Teledermatology demonstrates high diagnostic accuracy, supporting its use as a reliable alternative to in-person care for diagnosing general skin conditions and screening for skin cancer.”

Martyin K, Meznerics FA, Bokor LA, et al. Diagnostic accuracy of teledermatology for skin diseases: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Frontiers in Medicine, 2026. doi:10.3389/fmed.2026.1739592 ↗

71vs44%

agreement with in-person diagnosis when the remote assessment is made by a dermatologist rather than a non-specialist. Who reads your photographs matters more than the technology.

“When dermatologists conducted F2F and teledermatology consults, the overall diagnostic agreement was significantly higher at 71% compared with 44% for non-specialists.”

Bourkas AN, Barone N, Bourkas MEC, et al. Diagnostic reliability in teledermatology: a systematic review and a meta-analysis. BMJ Open, 2023. PMID 37567745 ↗

40–80%

of what a doctor tells you is forgotten immediately — and of what is remembered, almost half is remembered incorrectly.

“40–80% of medical information provided by healthcare practitioners is forgotten immediately… almost half of the information that is remembered is incorrect.”

Kessels RPC. Patients’ memory for medical information. Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, 2003;96:219–222. J R Soc Med ↗

Written
wins

Of all the interventions studied to help patients retain medical advice, written information is one of the few shown to work.

“Written and tape-recorded instructions appeared to improve patient clinical information recall.”

Watson PW, McKinstry B. A systematic review of interventions to improve recall of medical advice in healthcare consultations. Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, 2009. NCBI review ↗

Put together: remote assessment is diagnostically reliable when a dermatologist does it, most spoken advice is lost within minutes, and a written record is one of the few proven fixes. That is precisely this service — a specialist assessment you receive in writing, then discuss.

The difference

Traditional consultation versus virtual.

A virtual consultation is the traditional one — plus a written specialist report you keep.

Traditional consultation
20%of the advice recalled
”Two subcision sessions, four weeks apart”Then fractional resurfacing”Hold off on filler until tethering releases”Avoid sun for ten days after each session
✓A live consultation✕No written report✕Nothing to hand your own doctor
Virtual consultation
100%re-readable, forever

Frequently asked questions

Type your question — chances are I already have your answer.

Will the appointment time be shown in my timezone?
Yes. Your timezone is detected automatically and every time you see — on the calendar, at checkout and on your confirmation — is your local time. You can change the timezone manually at any point during booking. Dr Lim consults from Brisbane, Australia, but you never need to convert Australian time yourself.
What do I actually receive?
Three things: a personalised written report prepared from your photographs and history before your call; a live video consultation with Dr Lim to discuss that report and answer your questions; and the finalised report afterwards, updated with anything agreed during the call. The report is yours to keep and share with your own doctors.
Can Dr Lim prescribe medication or treat me over video?
Dr Lim's work is procedural — lasers, energy devices and injectables cannot be delivered virtually, and prescribing depends on where you are located. Many international patients use the consultation to obtain a diagnosis and a written treatment plan which their local dermatologist or doctor then acts on. Where prescriptions are appropriate and lawful, this is discussed during your consultation.
What if my condition can't be managed virtually?
Some conditions need physical examination, tests or in-person treatment. If that applies to you, Dr Lim will say so plainly, and where possible point you to an appropriate specialist — in Australia or closer to where you live. A virtual consultation is an assessment and planning tool, not a guarantee of treatment.
What photographs do I need?
Three clear photographs of your concern: a front-on view, a side or angled view, and a close-up. Use natural lighting where possible and avoid makeup, filters, flash and heavy shadows. Photographs are private, stored securely, and reviewed only for your consultation — they are never made public.
How much does it cost?
The consultation fee is shown at the time of booking and is payable when you book — currently AUD $360 for a consultation including your written report. Payment is by card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay / Google Pay) or PayPal.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes, with at least 24 hours' notice before your scheduled time. Your written report is prepared and sent within 48 hours of booking. Appointments can be changed or cancelled with more than 24 hours' notice. Missed appointments, or changes inside 24 hours, incur the full consultation fee. Policy placeholder
Is this suitable for urgent problems?
No. This service is not for urgent or emergency medical problems. If you need urgent care, contact your local doctor or emergency services.
How do I join the video call?
A secure video link is emailed to you with your confirmation and again before your appointment. Please log in two minutes early — Dr Lim is usually on time, give or take a couple of minutes depending on the previous appointment.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your questionnaire answers and photographs are used only for your consultation, stored securely, and never displayed publicly. Health information is not shared with analytics or advertising platforms.
Where are your terms, privacy policy and refund policy?
All four — terms of service, privacy, refunds and cancellation, and complaints — are on one page: terms, privacy & refunds. It is written in plain English and it is short. The short version: your photographs are stored securely and reviewed only for your consultation; cancel more than 24 hours ahead for a full refund; and if the technology fails at either end, we reschedule at no cost.
